The picture was made by Caldwell Photography out of Mena, Arkansas around 1902-1903, The family homesteaded the site in 1901.
The man in the middle with the shotgun is Edgar J. "Ed" Shorter. Second oldest son of Henson and Josephine. The man seated on the
porch to the far left behind the two women is Henson. In front of him are his two young sons, my grandfather Lee and his brother Doyle.
Lee is the baby of the family and is the one with his head turned looking at Doyle. The woman to the far left is Cordia Shorter. I am not
sure who the lady is next to here, whether it is your grandmother Lilly or Ed's wife Mary. The man kneeling by the side of Ed is not
a Shorter, he is Curry Woods, he was sparking Cordia at the time. She ended up however marrying L.L. Barham in Paris, Texas.

Info provided by Clois Shorter:
I noticed you also had a picture of Ed and all his sons beside his house in Ardmore. Dad knows all the boys names, but I can only
remember Ross, Earl, Henson and Haskell.
