| I like fishing that island there down South...Ive caught a lot of nice cats down there. Been thinking during the summer it would be a neat place to do little primitve camping, fire, and a cold frosty malt beverage. Set up some bank poles off the island and run a few jugs during the night. |

There's a camping spot down there just north of the little cut that goes into Kentucky Creek. There used to be a table there made in the fork of a tree, and the ground is clear and flat. There's access from the highway down there when things dry out pretty well. _________________ "Hey, hold my beer and watch this." |

| I'll have to check that out next time I'm down that way. I kind of actually like having a place where access was only by boat...keep some of the rif raf away. I camped out at big creek four times last year and never had any big problems except getting some dang sleep. The first time I camped at big creek some idiot was running his generator all night long..too damm loud and didn't get a wink of sleep. The second time some nice fella's decided to run their 4 wheelers at 1:00 am, 2:00am and 3:00 am through the campgrounds. I've never heard a louder four wheelers in my life. The last time the drunks were too loud and just kept me up too long. I guess that the price you pay when you camp there, I just wished people had some common coursity to others. I love that river and looking for other more peaceful places to camp. |

A few years back we were camped at Big Creek and someone had a loud generator making too much noise and folks cheered when it finally conked out. My bunch is sometimes the ones that make noise, they build a big fire and drink beer and tell stories till late, but as they get older they've mellowed out alot, and aren't near as bad as they used to be....they camped up there thinking nobody would call the law several years ago. If you've ever noticed a bunch of boats and pickups around a smoker made out of a 500 gal. propane tank on wheels...that's us.
What bothers me up there is the locals hound dog barking all night long...and then just about daylight the roosters start in.
I think that if you camp south of that little cut that goes into Kentucky Creek...if there's a place along there, you won't be bothered from any road...and I'm thinking there's also a spot just down from the island on the west bank that would also be isolated from any road. _________________ "Hey, hold my beer and watch this." |

| I don't think I've seen you down there Slick. I don't mind people having a good time but after 12 or 1 in the morning it's kind of nice to have some sleep time. I just wish I could sleep like the boy, he fell alsleep after two minutes in that tent with that generator going all night. |
