Heard of people using this technique to catch spring crappie but never tried it. Best I can figure a bell sinker is tied terminal to mainline and one or two jigs are attached via droploop(s) a foot or so up the line. Buddy of mine swears by it on rocky banks/points. I'm one of those who pitches/flips minners and covers alot of brush. Anybody got a pic or general tutorial on dropshotting? _________________ Ethics are a funny suit......seldom does one size fit all! |

This isn't drop shot, but it's a technique that is used by some of the locals that crappie fish down at Eufaula Lake.
They actually put a big sinker up above their jig, or minnow a foot or two, when fishing around submurged timber. When they hang up they let the weight freefall, and it often gets them un-hung. _________________ "Hey, hold my beer and watch this." |
