Tiny's Guide Service

Fished with Peter, David, Dalton and Hunter today. We started out a little rough today. We went to the ramp and the lake was froze over solid so we decided to go have breakfast at Judy Ann's over in Claremore to wait for it to warm up some. I told them that we wouldn't be able to launch over at Cowskin bay until about 11am so we should head over to Prairie View Ramp so we did that and it was 21 to 22 degrees when we went to Judy Ann's and by the time we got done there and went to Mannford it had gotten up to about 35 degrees and the ramp was clear over there so we headed out ... the boat ride over to get shad was pretty cold and we got over where the shad hole was and it was all frozen over so we couldn't get shad .. I still had some in my bait tank from the day before and I decided to go ahead and go fishin ... we got good and started fishin about 11 am or so and they had a little trouble negotiating the equipment for quite a while as we missed a lot of fish and Peter had a biggun on that came unglued .. it was pullin drag and then Peter had it almost under the boat and I think it rolled over on him as he couldn't do nuttin with him right about then ... I think the fish rolled and the line wrapped around him and twisted the hook out. After a while they got the hang of it and started knockin um down. We caught 14 fish with the biggest at 12 lbs 1 oz. The wind started getting rough and the tiny ship was tossed ... if not for the courage of the fearless crew the minner would be lost. hahaha ... we fished until about 4:15 and decided to head back to the ramp so we wouldn't run out of daylight so I could clean the fish. Turned out to be a pretty good fishin' trip and we had a lot of fun. It was great seeing these two younguns enjoy fishin as this was their first fish they'd ever caught and they caught some pretty good ones ... 5 to 7 lb'ers ... I thought that they were a little too young and was worried about um there at first as this was some pretty extreme fishin but they didn't whimper or whine one bit and they didn't just seem to be enjoying themselves ... they were having quite a bit of fun. It was a real treat for ole tiny to see them boys having such a good time. They was some tough young men and I was plum proud of them ... I know their fathers was too. If I'd have taken my kids fishin in weather half this bad when they was that young we'd have never even got past the first buoy before they started cryin bout wanting to go home. These boys were only like 7 and 9 years old. Really tough younguns.
