Keystone Catfishing March 1, 2009

Tiny's Guide Service

Fished with Mike Sr., Mike Jr., A.K.A.-> Michael and Carl. Carl is a local whom is a member of Grumpy Old Men crappie fishin club on Keystone. We had a great day fishin. or I should say catchin cause we loaded up the livewell where we couldn't have gotten another fish in it. Maybe we could have a few more small ones but it was plum full. We caught so many around 10 lbs that I lost count of those ... I stopped taking pictures of them after about 4 of them. We braved the cold today and it was a little blistery out there. I think we seen maybe 40 for the high with some pretty brisk winds but it was worth it cause the fish didn't seem to mind the cold. We only fished about 3.5 hours before they had to head in. Michael had to be at work by 5pm and we didn't get started fishin until somewhere around 11am. it was hard to get shad. I had to throw my 10 ft net as they were scattered across the main part of the lake. They were up in the coves on the last trip but I checked Rock Creek and Mud creek for shad thick enough to throw a net at but never found any ... we had to throw at some scattered shad out in the Arkansas river channel. We got enough to fish with finally and set out to round some fish up ... while I was looking for shad I found some fish so we already had them marked so that made it a little easier. 17 fish total for the day. fun day fishin.
